Cleats o’ Fire Roster & Bios

Cleats o' Fire '09
Kelley Mlicki, #13 – Coach, Cleat Founder. When not creating lineups, coaching 3rd base, and pacing through the dugout, she can seen on the field playing catcher, first base, and hitting down the line. Also known as: Mlicki, Monkey, Coachie-coach. Off the field, she can be found writing riveting blurbs about WWII relics, planning fundraising activities, and holding hands with Gunnie.
Barb Griese, #6 - Pitching perfectly to the pocket with pizazz, hitting a
mean right-side drive, and never letting a ball get by her mound, this Cleat keeps the Fire roaring. Off the field you can find her pitching balls to her dog Kiwi, admiring her new kitchen, and keeping in touch with her million nieces and nephews.
Stacy Westbrook #37 - Holding down right-center, speeding around bases, and bringing the golf swing back to softball with unimaginable success. Commonly known as Westie, and “best chest is the west-brook”, in her spare time she enjoys creating websites, brewing beer, and wrangling her numerous pets to do good deeds.
Suzanne Martin, #33 or #69 - This solid left fielder can outrun and snatch up just
about any ball hit in her area, throws spot on, and brings her authority to the plate with big hits. Off the field, you can find this 8th year Cleat warming up in preparation for games, censoring any non-Adidas wear, and snuggling with her soon-to-be wife K-Dub. Also known as: Suz, Suzy-Q, or S-Mart(in).
Kristin Wulfestieg, #99 – Whether playing left-center or at first base, this all-around Cleat always has her head in the game. Through backing up her teammates in the field or by forcing them to run the bases with her massive hits, there is never a dull moment when this Cleat takes the field. Known by many as just K-Dub, off the field you can find her cooking up lil’ smokies, diligently planning her upcoming wedding to Suz, and rockin the Guitar Hero.
LeAnna Zentner, #44 – Keeping it tight in left-center, stretching for the out
at first, or stepping up to the mound to pitch, this Cleat can do it all. Best known for scoring the tying run in the miraculous Miracle game (Phoenix, 2007), she steps it up when the team needs her. Proudfully owning the number and name “44!”, this youngest member of the Zentner family is also known as Lil Z, L-Z, and LeLe. Off the field you can find this Cleat taming babies, playing games, or mixing a cold drink.
Sara Dryden, #10 – Lead off hitter who loves to run the bases, this 8th-year Cleat has found her zone turning double plays at second base. Commonly known as S-Rad, but also called Sparkplug, S-Raddish, S-rack, and Big Love. Off the field, she can be found digging in her garden, spoiling her dog Inka, and hanging out with wayward teenagers.
Wendy Daugherty, #25 – To be found holding down right field and backing up second
-base, this left-batting cleat has the highest on-base average of any team member, likely due to her hawk-like watching of the pitches that pass by her. And once on the bases, there is no stopping her. Off the field, one can find Win-Win Daugherty (as she is called) attending to forsaken band instruments, fostering cats of all sizes, and sauntering to the fields one minute before game time.
Joyce Schilitz, #15 – Bringing her authority behind the plate, this catcher chats up the blue, reads each batter as they step up to the plate, and lets her pitchers know where to place the ball, all while keeping an eye on the entire field. Holding an invaluable position on the field, this Cleat can also slice a line at the plate and keeps everyone in the game. A long time veteran of the RCSA, she can be heard called Sweet Ass, or just Sweets, by those who love her. Off the field, you can find her boogyin’ down on the dance floor or traveling to west coast dance parties with her honey.
Katelin O’Malley, #3 – After a year hiatus from a softball-related knee injury,
this young Cleat is back in action, sharing space at shortstop and first, throwing herself into the dirt, and rocking the ball to the distance at the plate. Also known as Sally O’Malley and Gromit, she can be found off the field pouring steamy lattes, giggling with her lady Swank, and reveling in post-college freedom.
Hilary Johnson, #14 - Getting down and dirty at shortstop or third, nothing gets by this Cleat. Sharp in the infield and a force with the bat, she is also known as Swank, Swankie, Hatchet, Kill-ary, and various combinations of names with her lady-friend (o’Malary, the twins, etc). Off the field, she enjoys drinking multiple pots of coffee, long walks on the beach, and learning that you need poles to put up a tent.
Leslie Hero, #17 – Drafted from a rival team last year, this trusty 3rd base/ short-shop
fielder and power hitter is on fire! Flashing smiles through her black mouthguard, this Cleat, best known as L’Hero, or just Hero, can be found off the field designing and creating smokin’ hot tattoos and other various works of art, having BBQ’s in her backyard, and getting her hair done.
Beth Gustin, #18 – Eating up the action in right and right-center field, this ball-smacking 2nd year Cleat fuels the Fire. Stepping up to the plate with Gusto, she has earned that nickname with her power hitting. Off the field, she can be found finishing up her business degree, hanging out with lots of books, and rooting on the Red Sox.
Patty Campbell, #1 – A welcome transplant from Los Angeles, this new-comer brings the
Cleat bullpen up to a new level. Playing the batters like only a pitcher can, this Cleat fits right in with the Fire. While it is too soon to know what may arise, the Cleats have already begun trying out P.C. and (LeAnna’s favorite) Soup as alternate names.
Candice Jackson, #4 – Also in her rookie season as a Cleat, this second basewoman and flame-throwing hitter makes a great addition to the team, filling in the Wall of Fire with a sticky glove and quick moves. Alternate names tried out by the team include CJ and Candy-Pants.
Shannon Martini, #00 – Taking a year off of playing more competitive
softball, this fabulous Cleat fan has stepped up as full-time stat keeper for the season. As quick with a pencil as she had been on the field, she is the details behind the firey scorebook. Known as Dirty by anyone who’s seen her play softball, you can find her off the scoring bench drawing blood in gentle fashion, creating artsy-stuff, and loving up her dog friend Lyra (even her dog is Cleat-orange!)
